MaxiMill C/A 211
Strong on steel: the re-enhanced classic |
 |
The milling cutters of the MaxiMill series are real classics: even in the seventies, the shoulder milling cutters were applied for difficult machining operations. No matter whether it is steel or cast iron, thanks to the robust tool body, the inserts which are adapted to the respective material, and extremely hard coatings, MaxiMill C/A 211 achieves high productivity and ensures long tool life.
Now CERATIZIT has once again improved the classic tool. An extraordinary variety is one of the most important strengths of the optimised series. No matter whether it is slot milling, peripheral or face milling - the relevant tool types with their optimised construction virtually cover the entire range of milling operations.
A master of all materials For the cutting inserts three cutting materials with CVD or PVD hard coatings are available. According to the grades the cutting edges show best results on steel, cast iron, stainless steel or even heat resistant steels. In order to obtain optimum chip evacuation with such different material characteristics, the chip grooves are designed individually.
"Through the integrated holes for all types of coolants the milling cutters are specially suited for minimum quantity lubrication in HSC processes", says Peter Uttenthaler, manager of the Business Segment Energy and Transport. "The coolant medium is directly transported to the cutting edge. This enables limited usage of the medium, prolongs the service life of the cutting edges and makes it easier to respect close tolerances."
Innovations of a classic:
- Nickel coated tool body
- Improved tooling
- Integrated holes for all types of coolants
- Optimised chip evacuation
- Optimised construction for the entire milling cutter range
- Precise positioning of the insert through special insert seat
- Radial force compensation through the 'notch'
