At the Metav 2006 CERATIZIT will introduce a new clamping system for turning inserts. Maxilock D clamps the insert reliably against the location and contact face, insert security is increased, and additionally machining time and material costs are reduced. Furthermore MaxiLock D makes work easier thanks to an innovative combination of tooling and accessories.

Engineers understand this problem: when machining a workpiece the insert breaks. The machine cannot be turned off immediately, therefore the shim also breaks. The replacement takes away valuable working time. And the journey to tool storage often is a long one …

No more waste of time!
This is over thanks to the specialists in innovative cutting solutions from CERATIZIT. The new MaxiLock D tools are provided with a spare shim and spare screw in a pocket directly on the tool shank. This is very practical because in the case of a damaged shim a new insert is immediately at hand.

Protection against cutting forces
But this is only one of the numerous advantages of the MaxiLock D system. Tilting of the insert (a common problem with the lever lock system), is avoided through a special clamping device. The insert is clamped precisely to the location and contact face. So the insert is mounted reliably and protected against cutting forces. In order to change the insert, simply lift the claw using an integrated spring.

All inclusive: MaxiLock D - it’s all in there
All MaxiLock D tools are provided with an insert seat that has four contact points. This guarantees that inserts with used cutting edges are located securely. The screw, claw and spring are integrated to form one clamping element. “This reduces the number of spare parts and makes tool handling easier”, says Herbert Ronacher, product manager for turning, parting and grooving tools. Another feature is the integrated Torx key. Only when it needs to be applied on the machine it is taken out of a bore at the end of the tool. Ready to use! This ensures that the tool and the accessories are combined in a way that for a long time the operators have been hoping for. Additional items such as rubber rings or packaging bags to fix the single parts are superfluous. “These innovative ’all inclusive’ tools from CERATIZIT make sure that you can’t lose any constituent parts”, explains Ronacher.
