CERATIZIT to display its portfolio as a full-service provider in the cutting tools sector at AMB 2018
Four competence brands for the cutting tools sector

The CERATIZIT Group will present its restructured cutting tools division, including the new competence brand structure, at AMB 2018. Under the umbrella brand CERATIZIT Group, the carbide machining specialist will be represented with the four competence brands Cutting Solutions by CERATIZIT, KOMET, WNT and KLENK.
The CERATIZIT Group will present its newly structured cutting tools division for the first time at the AMB 2018 in Stuttgart. The international company has used its acquisition of the precision tool manufacturer KOMET GROUP to pool all its cutting tools activities and optimally align them to the needs of its customers. In the course of this process, KOMET was fully integrated into the structures of the CERATIZIT Group.
Complementary product portfolios
“The product portfolios of CERATIZIT and KOMET complement each other perfectly,” explains Thierry Wolter, Member of the Executive Board. “Together, we can now offer our customers comprehensive, high-quality solutions from a single source. While CERATIZIT occupies a very strong position in the fields of turning, milling and grooving, for example, and offers leading solutions for various applications, KOMET is a proven specialist for all machining steps involving holes and, among other things, provides strong solutions for the automotive industry. The Group will present joint solution packages for the automotive powertrain sector at booth 3B11 in the CERATIZIT Jacques Lanners Halle at AMB.
Innovation rate to be increased even further
At present, as much as 40% of the Group's cutting tools are less than 5 years old. But their ambitions go even further. The pace of innovation is to be further increased in the coming years. “We aim to achieve a future share of 50 percent. With the presentation of our FreeTurn tools for High Dynamic Turning and other product innovations such as the KUB 100 indexable insert drill at the AMB, the show is a good starting point for realising this goal,” explains Wolter. “The aim of our innovations is always to offer our customers solutions that will increase their productivity and make their work easier,” Wolter continues.
One sales organisation per country
The optimisations in cutting tools also extend to sales. There is now only one sales organisation per country which is responsible for the products of all four competence brands. Claude Sun, Managing Director of the cutting tools division in Europe, explains one of the advantages for the customers: “In the future, our customers will only have one contact with access to the products of all four competence brands. Our four brands are already strong on an individual basis. But together we can now offer our customers outstanding comprehensive packages.”
CERATIZIT Jacques Lanners Halle
The CERATIZIT Group inaugurated the CERATIZIT Jacques Lanners Halle on the first day of the trade fair, in the presence of Ulrich Kromer von Baerle, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart, and numerous guests. The company has secured the naming rights for Hall 3 as part of a ten-year marketing partnership with Messe Stuttgart. The hall is named after Jacques Lanners, grandson of one of the company's two founders and long-standing Chairman of the Group Executive Board.
