We're always on top of current research developments and implement up-to-date knowledge into the carbide solutions we design.

Colorstar

Colorstar

A world first: The multi-layer CVD coating "COLORSTAR" improves the service life and reliability of tools. Coloured coating means that any signs of wear are directly visible. When cutting edges wear out over time, their surface structure changes and so does the colour too.

TiB2 Coating

TiB2 Coating

In 2008 we patented our TiB2 coating, used in the field of titanium machining. This coating is produced through chemical vapor deposition, or CVD. At 1,000 degrees Celsius, components of a carrier gas react and form wear-resistant layers on the surface of the material.

Tizit Gold Master

Tizit Gold Master

In 1974 we patented the revolutionary multi-layer coating TIZIT GoldMaster.

First Patent

First Patent

We obtained our first patent for steel machining with the hard materials tungsten carbide and titanium carbide back in 1933 – when we were still known as Metallwerk Plansee.
